Are you often in situations where you are unsure whether your choice of instrument fittings should be compression fittings with double clamping rings? Or is the pressure in the system so high that high pressure fittings with a cone and thread must be used? And when should you select one above the other to have a safe and properly functioning installation?
The course leader will guide you through all the elements regarding the choice and identification of a given high pressure fitting, so you will have a firm grasp of when to use one before the other. When you are in control of these general issues and at the same time have learned when “cone and thread” must be chosen before an alternative, you will be able to make the right decisions, which have a crucial impact on the life, safety and operation of your installation.
On this course you will of course also be instructed in correct installation, use of special tools and how to determine threads and torques. You will also get to grips with how much pipework to use and how it is calculated, including practical exercises. You will learn best practice in both the selection and assembly of high pressure instrument fittings, as you will learn where things most often go wrong during assembly, so you are well equipped to avoid pitfalls in your day to day work.
The course ends with tips and tricks on how to perform troubleshooting and rectification on existing systems safely and quickly. We also review the placement of “weep holes” and taking precautions in connection with stoppages and work on or near active equipment under pressure.
